An Ark Encounter

In the town of Williamstown, Kentucky, you will find an amazing landmark.  In December 2010, a partnership was formed to build a theme park that would display the biblical account of the story of Noah, the ark, and the flood.

The Ark in Williamstown was constructed by Amish builders using traditional timber framing techniques.  Over 1,000 craftsmen were employed in the Ark’s construction.  The Ark is the largest timber frame structure in the United States measuring 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high.

The Ark Encounter Park opened in 2016 and provides a self-guided tour of the Ark, a zoo, a beautiful timber framed restaurant, a carousel, zip lining opportunities, and an outdoor concert space.

From the moment I entered the grounds, I could not stop taking pictures and videos.  Here is a compilation of all that I saw at this amazing theme park.

I have one more stop on this Ohio/Kentucky road trip.  Stay tuned for another important highlight of this adventure.
